Mala Making Workshop
Saturday, July 16
10am to 1pm
A mala, like a rosary, is a string of beads used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra. For Buddhist practitioners, this ritual object is revered as precious, becoming more powerful and meaningful the more it is used.
During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to make a wooden mala. Spend a morning learning the traditional technique of mala-making and how to incorporate mantra recitation into your meditation practice.
What to expect during this workshop:
- Receive teachings on the preciousness of a mala
- Learn the Buddhist technique for making and using a mala
- Make your very own mala.
- Have fun!
Pre-registration is required (we need to make sure we have enough materials and space for everyone).
Cost: $30 ($25 for Center Supporters) materials are provided.
Everyone is welcome!
