A retreat is a chance to dedicate some time apart from the routine of our daily lives to deepen our experience of meditation. By setting aside a portion of a day and spending it in quiet peace of a meditation center, we can engage in focused study of a particular topic for a length of time that we might not be allowed otherwise.
Our retreats are fully guided with instructions about how to concentrate and find the experience of peace and happiness that arises from contemplating Buddha’s profound teachings. Each retreat includes time for quiet reflection and time for questions.
Next Saturday Morning Retreat
October 10 at 10am to 12:30pm
How can I understand the world situation? Why do these things happen to me?
We all want to be happy and free from problems; these are our two basic wishes. However, due to lacking wisdom understanding karma, we misidentify the actual causes of suffering and remain trapped in a cycle of pain and dissatisfaction.
In these uncertain times, an understanding of karma gives us encouragement and hope. By contemplating Buddha’s teachings on karma in this Saturday morning retreat; and living in accordance with the understanding we gain in meditation, we can discover the key to our own happiness and unlock our own potential for permanent freedom.
This morning retreat includes practical instruction and guided meditation.
Cost $15: free for Center Supporters. Registration will be available after September 26.
