A Mala, like a rosary, is a string of beads used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra. For Buddhist practitioners this ritual object is precious, becoming more powerful and meaningful the more it is used.
During this Workshop you will have the opportunity to make a wooden mala. Spend the morning learning the traditional technique of mala making and how to incorporate mantra recitation into your meditation practice.
What to expect:
- Receive teachings on the preciousness of a mala
- Learn the Buddhist technique for making and using a mala
- Make your very own mala
- Have fun, some light refreshments, and community!
Pre-registration is required (we need to make sure we have enough materials and space for everyone).
Cost: $30 ($25 for Monthly Supporters) and material are provided.
